Good ol' classic for me

Nokia have released a new phone; The Nokia 3720 Classic.

They have revealed numerous videos showing off what this phone can handle. The phone has been dunked in a pint of beer, smacked with a golf club, punted through the air, drowned in a pool and even dropped two stories off a ladder — each and every time followed by the phrase “it’s still working!” Suffice it to say, this new Nokia kit is ruggedized and it fairs extremely well in a variety of "real world" accident scenarios.

I constantly find myself having to put my phone down or take it out of my pocket in fear of it getting broken or damaged. My last phone was the Nokia 5310, which mysteriously malfunctioned for no reason at all beyond repair; I did drop it a few times now and then so maybe that contributed to its sudden death.

I then had to go back to my old phone, a Nokia 3200 which still is working strong despite being thrown around, dropped and treated much worse than my latter phone. The fact of the matter is that they just don't make phones like they used to. And hopefully soon I will have a phone that just might live up to the standards of... well, of the past.

Come on!

Right now i have too many projects I've been procrastinating for no reason. Too many things I planned to do, but no action!

Its time i 're-start' project 'agogo'

I'm hitting the ground running and I'm not stopping.

I'm actually really exited right now, so much so that i feel i need to get out of this chair and into action. wooo come on!

OK. For those of you who don't have a clue what the heck I'm on about lets muse:

There are times in life where you think of all these great dreams, ideas, plans etc; but sometimes its very easy to forget these. Funny(but so true) quote i read this week:

Well I have gotten to the point of over planning and under performing, and I'm sick of it! Don't get me wrong, its not so much that I'm planning too big, it's more that my natural phlegmatic self is getting too lazy. And so now I'm fighting back, and I'm pushing forward. No more doodling around achieving nothing!

Lets do this!

Electronics

Yes, well this week I've been working quite sweatshoppishly at an electronics company that my Dad works at. They just get me to do all the lovely tedious jobs that take a long time with lots of repetition.

I must have re-programmed over 250 modem BCB's(doing 2 at once.. yeh i'm pro), removed and put on about 100 cases and i think drunk around 6 cups of hot chocolate...

But what I've really enjoyed is listening to the interesting conversations that go on, about general things in life and extremely complicated electronics; Doodling around when you temporarily run out of things to do; And lunchtime is always fun, going to get lunch with my dad, laughing about funny situations we find our selves in and things we see.

Over all it's been a bulletball of a time!

Yes, i have exams all this week, currently have completed 2 of a total 8. I'm not really looking forward to the 3 exams i have on my birthday, but hey... I'll just have to lavish it :)

Street

Latelly i've been getting into street photography, well ok... for about the last year. But now that i've actually started doing it i'm getting even more exited :)

Has Anyone else noticed the increase in size of cars, as newer models are brought out...

Whats it for, crash padding?

Asian Discount

Last week i went to this small store in Whitford City shops to get my phone fixed. When i got there i saw 3 asian men all sitting down at their little workshops working on broken phones.

One was an older man of Singaporean appearance, working at this little desk with micro chips, a soldering iron and various other mobile phone parts cluttering his workspace.

The second was of Malaysian appearance also doing the same thing.

The third was of Indian Malay appearance, working at a computer.

So the third man, being the least busy, approached me and asked what he could do for me. I showed him my phone and explained what was wrong with it, demonstrating very well all that i knew about the problem.

He took the phone and showed it to the second man, after several seconds of conversation he came back to me and said it will cost "78 dollars to fix this phone."

I went home and told my mum about the experience; then she suggested that I give her the phone and she'll tell them the same thing, and see if they offer a cheaper price. I thought brilliant, what a great idea. My mother being of more asian appearance than me surely will get a cheaper price!

So later on that week my mother went to the store, and sure enough they asked for 55 dollars.
A whole 23 dollars less. I was pleased. Whether consciously or sub-consciously an asian is more likely to give a cheaper price to a fellow asian than a caucasian any day.

Anyways, i hope i have not offended anyone in anyway. Because when I told this story to some people, they got angry and said it was blatant racism, I replied with, "of course it is." haha
