Untitled

Seeing as i am not studying or pursuing photography as a form of job, i am going to make it my primary hobby.

Through browsing lots of peoples work, observing life and various entities I've been getting some ideas for new photography projects i would like to do. One up coming project i am soon to start will be completely in black and white. I find monotone photography detaches from the world we see, because we see in colour, and focuses on subject, form, shadow and light therefore making it more powerful and have a deeper connection with the viewer.

Also i am working on fixing up my film developing container so it can hold 35mm film... as currently it holds 120 film which i do not have a camera for, let alone the film to develop. So once that's done i can start developing my B&W film, which almost nowhere develops(pretty much only fitzgerald do)..(but their too expensive).

Exiting stuff!
So all i need to work out is a more specific theme, i was thinking more along the lines of 'people' or 'life' which i know are very very vague and vast themes, but hopefully something will come to me.

Catching Up

I think i get more satisfaction writing these blogs than the odd 1 or 2 people that even know this blog exists, or any other random reader that stumbles upon my blog.
I realised that i hadn't written a new post in some time so i just went to my default backup blog and posted an embedded slideshow of my photos(see previous entree). But all this time of not blogging I've been doing lots of thinking and lots of note-padding, so hopefully i can put some of those random scribbles of thought into blog form, in upcoming posts.

Catching Up
Catching up with friends i haven't seen in a while is something I'm catching up on as well as my blog entrees. I have come to realise the importance of maintaining good friendships that you have made in the past; although this requires a lot of time and effort i think its worth it, after all people need relationship with other people otherwise they tend to go crazy.
So the way i see it, the more people you are friends with the better, but of course like i just said it takes effort to maintain these friendships.

Enough blabbering on about that, here is a  one of my favourite photographs,
 not taken by me.
I'm showing this as inspiration for a future entry I'm going to write about some up coming photography projects i would like to do :)

STAND Promo

Yes well after much praise and approval my I can put up my STAND promo:
enjoy :) stopmotion

*sigh*

Yes... Well i haven't written a blog in quite some time, i guess due to the busyness of the time of year, Christmas/ New Year. Also the fact that I'm on holidays and so i have become more laid back and really cant be bothered writing a new blog.. but here i am.

I just finished photographing the stop motion for the summer camp promo. A very exhausting experience, the tedious duties of having to write down the things i need to plan, plan the things i need to organise, organise all the things i need to print, and the cut out all the pieces I've printed, and then organise all the pieces I've cut out; And then you have to photograph the pieces you've organised and move them a tiny bit more and photograph again...

And then of you accidentally bump the tripod you have to do it all over again, with sweat dripping from your brow as you try and grasp the last reserved coolness in the house with the soaring heat raging outside.

By the end of it, i was ready to call it a day... so i did.

This is why i respect claymations, and other similar mediums of animation, so much! To think that they do 24 frames per second!! I take back everything i said about stop motion being time consuming, and say it's VERY time consuming... and tiring.

Anyways my next blog will most likely include the final product :)

OK, Bye for now

Stop Motion

Stop Motion is probably one of my favourite forms of video/animation production. Unfortunately it is also one of the most time consuming, but in the end I think its worth it.

This morning I got a call from Caleb Tan asking if I could make the summer camp promo for Stadium Youth; Then he suggested/ mentioned that I should do a stop motion.
So after the phone call I was lying in bed thinking, as i do, and i had some great ideas. Prior to the now, I haven't really made or had the chance to make a decent stop motion with people and there is so many things you can do with people that just make it that much more fun.

Anyways, here's one that i made using a white-board (really a laminated white sheet of paper)

Personally I don't find this really that amazing, just something I did as a form of procrastination during the the time i was meant to be "studying". By the end of it i just couldn't be bothered, really requires a lot of patience to do drawing stop motions.

Looking forward to making more stop motions :)

The Notepad

Recently I invested a new accessory to carry around with me, the notepad. All the time i find myself waiting around doing nothing or wanting to write something down but with no paper around... Then BAM! Out comes the notepad!

Incase your wondering, it's one of those small 76 x 112mm notepads, so it fits in my pocket.
Right now i have gone through one and a half notepads already; Filled with memo's, drawings, funny quotes that i hear, scribbles, michael's musings, sermon notes, funny observations, etc.

So don't be surprised to know that some of my blogs you read will be from 'The Notepad'

And i thought i'd include this just for fun, click ->

Chuckling

OK... Hopefully i'll start blogging more frequently now.

chuck⋅le

    [chuhk-uhl]
verb, chuck⋅led, chuck⋅ling, noun
–verb (used without object)

1. to laugh softly or amusedly, usually with satisfaction: They chuckled at the child's efforts to walk

2. to laugh to oneself: to chuckle while reading.

3. a soft laugh, usually

Don't be surprised to see me walking around with a smile on my face, or to hear me randomly give off a sudden burst of laughter with no one around me. Most mornings i often spent about half an hour just laying in bed thinking; Its more so me thinking of funny situations or stories/ events that have happened in the past. I cant help that these random thoughts of comedy pop into my head, but i certainly do appreciate that they do.

I believe that smiling more does make you a happier person, it also can potentially make people around you happier as well. Or maybe you smile because your happy, and then the smile makes you more happy which makes you smile even more... and so the cycle goes round.

Anyways,
I'll let you reminisce on that thought for now..

I'm Michael Clark.. and this is 'Segment' :
hmm we should start doing that again, ok 'segment' coming soon.

More Coming Soon

I'll fix this blog up real nice
